Requirements vary by state. Contact your DMV.
• Security paper
• Part number: FD-325
• Money paper
• Accepted in all 50 states
• Part number: FD-328
What's the difference between security paper and money paper?
Security paper includes several
security features that make illegal
duplication difficult. Money paper
incorporates a long list of AAMVA
recommended security features - it
includes many of the same
specialized features as U.S.
currency. All of the specialized
features make it more expensive
than security paper.
States decide what type of MSO's
they will accept. Some states, like
Georgia and Nevada, allow security
paper. Other states, like New York
and Florida, have very strict
standards and require money paper.
You'll have to contact your state's
DMV to find out what the
requirements are in your state. If
you are located in a security paper
state and only sell locally, security
paper may be your most cost
effective choice. If you are in a
money paper state, or sell trailers
nationally, you'll need to use money
paper MSO's.
